How does the Nordlys Photo Rejuvenation Treatment work?

The Nordlys selective waveband technology works by directing well-controlled pulses of light into the upper skin layer. The light is absorbed by two of the body’s own natural chemicals – melanin in the pigmented areas and hemoglobin in the red blood cells. These pigments utilize the light energy and convert it into heat, which is used to destroy parts of the cells where melanin or pigmentation is stored.

The light energy produced by the Nordlys is carefully controlled to the optimal pulse length and specific amount of energy to destroy imperfections without damaging the healthy surrounding tissue.

You should see an improvement in your cosmetic concerns with just one treatment, however up to 3 treatments may be recommended for optimal results. A full-face treatment takes less than 20 minutes.

A consultation is necessary to determine a Nordlys treatment plan that is right for your specific skin conditions. Call Teton Dermatology at 307-734-1800 to schedule your consultation.

NdYAG Vascular Laser

The Nd:YAG Laser is the preferred treatment for veins and vessels. This laser is ideal for isolated facial telangiectasis or vessels especially around the nose, venous lakes (vascular formations in the lip area), reticular veins (around the eye), and cherry hemangiomas found all over the body. The Nordlys Nd:YAG is also the gold standard device for treating leg veins.

The NdYAG uses a precisely calculated pulse of laser energy, exactly directed to the vascular target being treated. This energy causes the wall of the vessel to heat and then collapse. The vessel then is broken down by the body and reabsorbed naturally.

What does the NdYAG laser treat?

The NdYAG vascular laser can be used to treat:

  • Facial veins and telangectasias
  • Venous lakes (vascular formations in the lip area)
  • Vascular lesions and birth marks including port wine stains and hemangiomas
  • Leg veins
  • Redness associated with surgical scarring
  • Cherry angiomas on the face or body (sometimes called “red moles”)

Onychomycosis (Nail Fungus) – Clear Nail Laser Treatment

We are proud to offer laser nail treatment that is more effective than topical solutions and at least as effective as systemic antifungals without the risk of side effects associated with systemic drugs. Onychomycosis (nail fungus) can affect finger or toe nails. It becomes more common with age, and certain groups have a higher risk of developing the condition including people with diabetes, athlete’s foot, or circulation problems; people who sweat a lot, or even those who use communal showers at the gym or swimming pool.

What are my treatment options? You may be reading this because you have found that antifungal nail paints don’t work for you, or because you have read about the side of oral antifungal drugs. Ellipse Nd:YAG laser treatment offers a reliable and effective treatment, without the risk of uncomfortable side effects.

How does the Nordlys Onychomycosis treatment work?

A series of flashes of infrared light is aimed across the whole nail, including the skin immediately surrounding the nail. This heats up and destroys the fungus that is present. Because the fungus can spread from one nail to another, normally all ten nails are treated, even if nail fungus is visible on only one or two fingers or toes. Treatment of the whole ten nails normally takes only ten minutes.

How many Nordlys Onychomycosis treatments do I need?

Typically a course of 4 treatment sessions one week apart followed by monthly treatments for 6 months are necessary. Following the treatment, you will see the area of new nail growth is clear. Since the nail grows slowly, this clear area may take 3-4 weeks to become apparent.

Hair Removal:

Nordlys Hair Removal System provides excellent hair clearance after only 4-6 treatments. Most patients see significant improvement even after their first treatment. It is important to complete your series of treatments to ensure optimal results. With some of the longest ongoing clinical studies showing 77% clearance after 10 years, you can appreciate the long term benefit of hair free areas.

How does the Nordlys Hair Removal treatment work?

A thin layer of gel is applied to your skin before treatment, to ensure the maximum amount of light penetrates the skin. The Selective Waveband Applicator is pressed against the skin and a carefully controlled pulse of visible light is released. Potentially harmful wavelengths and wavelengths that only heat up water in the skin are removed using patented Dual Mode Filtering. The remaining light is absorbed by the pigment in your hair. Melanin converts the light into heat, which travels down the hair and heats the hair matrix, preventing future hair growth.
